Continuing its Crusade against Drugs, District Police Jammu achieved a major success by recovering 13 Kilograms of Charas like substance (valuing Rs. 2.60 Crores) and cash Rs. 20,000/- from three narcotic smugglers who were smuggling the contraband in vehicle at TCP Nagrota under thejurisdiction of Police Station Nagrota this afternoon.
Reports revealed that on specific information, developed bySDPO Nagrota, DySP Mohan Sharma laid naka at TCP Nagrota alongwith SHONagarota, Inspr.Showkat Ahmed. A vehicle bearing registration GJ01RY-4722 was signaled to stop for checking and cops recovered the consignment which wasconcealed in a vehicle in specially made cavities. The three narcotic smugglers including thedriver of the vehicle have been arrested who were smuggling the abovecontraband in the vehicle.They have been identified as Ghulam Haider Sheikh S/OChand Bhai , Mohd Ilyas Sheik S/O GhulamJafar and Talib Hussain Sayed S/O MohdHussain all residents of Ahmedabad, Gujrat.
In relation to this, case FIR No. 318/2019 U/S 8/20/29 NDPSAct has been registered at P/S Nagrota and investigation initiated.J&KPolice urged the civil society to strengthen the hands of J&K Police inweeding out this menace by providing the timely and actionable inputs about themovement and activities of these drug smugglers/peddlers in their respectiveareas to Police.
